Domain Wall QCD with the Exact One Flavor Algorithm
Content
RBC/UKQCD has recently finished implementing the exact one flavor algorithm (EOFA), which allows for HMC simulations of single quark flavors without taking a square root of the fermion determinant. In this talk we elaborate on the details of our implementation, including a novel preconditioning scheme for the exact one flavor Dirac operator that has been shown to significantly accelerate the algorithm. We then discuss tuning EOFA for ensemble generation in the context of our ongoing $\Delta I = 1/2$ $K \rightarrow \pi \pi$ calculation. We ultimately find that we are able to generate gauge field configurations a factor of four times faster per molecular dynamics trajectory after switching from RHMC to EOFA for the light quark determinant and retuning the integrator.
